Property Damage Policy
This Property Damage Policy explains how The Queening Crew handles accidental property damage claims. It is not intended to waive liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under North Carolina law.
1. Our Standard of Care
The Queening Crew will exercise reasonable care while performing cleaning services. Nothing in this policy releases The Queening Crew from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or other liability that cannot legally be waived.
2. Client Responsibility for Fragile & Valuable Items
Clients should secure cash, jewelry, collectibles, important documents, medication, firearms, valuable artwork, highly fragile objects, and irreplaceable or sentimental items. Clients should notify us before cleaning begins of fragile, unstable, damaged, improperly installed, or particularly valuable items located within areas being cleaned.
3. Pre-Existing Conditions
The Queening Crew is not responsible for damage that was not caused by our acts or omissions, including damage resulting from pre-existing cracks or breakage, normal wear and tear, deteriorated finishes, loose fixtures, improper installation, unstable furniture or shelving, previously chipped paint, manufacturer defects, deteriorated grout or caulk, or improperly secured objects.
4. Specialty Surfaces & Client-Provided Products
Clients must disclose specialty or delicate surfaces and manufacturer restrictions before service. If a Client specifically requests that we use a Client-provided product or equipment, the Client represents that it is suitable for the intended use. We may decline to use any product or equipment we reasonably believe could create a safety or damage risk.
5. Reporting Suspected Damage
Clients should notify us as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering suspected damage, preferably within 24 hours after service completion. A report should include, when available: a description of the damage, photographs or video, the location of the item, approximate age, proof of purchase, and a repair estimate or other proof of value. Failure to report within 24 hours does not automatically waive a claim where such a waiver would be prohibited by applicable law.
6. Investigation
We may reasonably investigate a reported claim by reviewing before-and-after photographs, cleaner statements, Client photographs, service records, property condition, repair estimates, purchase records, and other relevant information.
7. Resolution of Valid Claims
If we determine that our team caused compensable property damage, an appropriate resolution may include repair, professional repair, replacement with a reasonably comparable item, or monetary compensation. Valuation may reasonably consider the item's age, prior condition, depreciation, repairability, fair market value, and replacement cost. Nothing in this section limits any remedy or responsibility that cannot legally be limited under North Carolina law.
8. Satisfaction / Re-Clean Concerns
Cleaning-quality concerns are separate from property-damage claims. If an area included in the purchased service was missed or not cleaned to the agreed standard, contact us within 24 hours whenever reasonably possible so we can review and, when appropriate, offer a complimentary re-clean of the affected area. The re-clean guarantee does not eliminate rights or remedies otherwise available under applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by North Carolina law, The Queening Crew will be responsible only for losses for which it is legally responsible. Nothing in this policy excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, waives non-waivable statutory rights, or prevents a Client from exercising remedies available under applicable law.
